Can I submit multiple papers?
Yes. You can submit one or multiple papers to be considered for publication. Please note, however, that we will choose at most one piece by each author for the journal and the conference.
Do you accept simultaneous submissions?
No. If you have already submitted your paper for publication elsewhere, please do not submit to Prometheus.
Can I submit a paper that has already been published?
No. If your paper is already under review or has been published elsewhere, please do not submit to Prometheus.
Do I need to include an abstract?
Yes. Please submit a short abstract (no longer than 100-200 words). The abstract should not be included in your total word count.
How are papers evaluated?
We evaluate papers for originality, philosophical soundness, strong organization, and clarity. Each paper will be read by our editorial board and discussed by the club.
How many people do you accept?
We do not set the number of papers to accept ahead of time, so we will publish papers that meet our criteria and will publish fewer papers if we have fewer submissions that meet those criteria. However, in recent years, we tend to accept around four entries to come speak at our conference and select two papers to publish in the journal.
Who can submit a paper?
Any undergraduate student can submit to the journal. You do not need to be a philosophy major. We accept submissions from anywhere in the world including submissions form Johns Hopkins students.
